NORTHWEST BUSINESS PLANSNorthwest Business Plans will develop business plans for Oregon companies and then help obtain your new financing. UNIQUE: There are many professionals who will develop business plans on an hourly basis, but not help with the financing. There are also many bankers who can help put new business financing in place, but they expect their clients to have a business plan developed. Northwest Business Plans will provide expertise on both fronts and will work with you until you are in business. My extensive banking relations will help you to find the right type of financing, be it term loans, signature loans, SBA guaranteed products, equipment leasing or receivables factoring. If your credit rating is less than sterling, I bring creative solutions to the table to help you succeed. ORGANIZATION: Northwest Business Plans is organized as a sole proprietorship in Oregon. I am Thomas Toothacker, MBA, CPA and I am the principal of Northwest Business Plans. I have 25 years experience in various service industries as Controller, CFO, MIS and in Human Resources. I believe that every business entity has a unique story to tell and that no business plan is complete until it brings out that story. TARGET MARKET: Small to medium sized businesses which are less than three years old, located in Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas or Clark counties and want to startup or grow through expansion, merger or acquisition. Northwest Business Plans BackgroundI spent four years as the Budget Director of a privately held, Portland investment firm. My responsibilities included budgets and forecasts for apartment buildings, shopping centers, strip malls and large and small hotels in different states. It was during this tenure that the concept of a business entity having a story to tell revealed itself to me. This story is nothing less than the very essence of the business itself and contains all of the seeds and sprouts of future successes and failures. The role of the Budget Director or Business Plan Developer is to discover and convey that story, clearly, simply and completely. The numbers are only part of it and as a trained accountant, it took me a long time to realize that. Other elements that deserve equal consideration include not only staff, computer systems, and physical plant but also vision, passion and drive. All businesses mix some of these elements in different proportions and simmer them for varying lengths of time before adding spices to taste- but only some businesses will do it successfully. I want to identify these future success stories so that I can assist them on their journey. I firmly believe that this in turn benefits our community, schools, neighborhoods and economy. I am also reacting to the daily inefficiencies of the modern corporate world. Working in today's office filled with an abundance of politics and a dearth of motivation makes every task infinitely more difficult. I am interested in working with small clients who have everything at stake in their businesses. This is where the rubber truly hits the road. These are the folks who have a very good idea and have experienced some success in getting their idea to market, but they lack the full range of business expertise that could insure their continued achievements. I want to use the process of developing a business plan to help my clients see their strengths and weaknesses and to take corrective steps as necessary. This in turn will allow them to be seen in the most favorable light possible by potential lenders. My experience in developing business plans has taught me a number of things;
